The Scots College

Year 10 - Year 12 at The Scots College

My boarding school life at The Scots College, Sydney – One of Australia’s oldest and most respected boys’ schools, was actually more challenging than I ever expected. At The Scots College’s boarding house, they have a very unique philosophy in teaching us all about leadership and responsibility. We are taught and guided by the staff and teachers of the boarding house to develop our full potential academically, physically, socially and spiritually. As a boarder at the Scots, we participate fully in the academic, cultural and sporting life of the College. The boarding community makes a significant contribution to all areas of College life, and is highly valued by staff and fellow students alike.

Growing up in a traveling family, I learnt the importance to be independent when I was a young boy. We learnt about different house rules and how to run a boarding house from waking everybody up every morning to organizing laundry. The organized schedule at boarding school also developed a systematic routine that I could apply at work today.

Denise Chu has been extremely helpful in assisting me with my high school application and enrollment at The Scots College. With my parent’s busy traveling work schedule, Denise Chu helped me from searching the appropriate schools and housing options, to ensuring my parents I will have suitable health care and security in Australia. Her regular visits to Australia hosted informal gatherings to link up students like me and make sure we are all doing OK away from home. Back in Hong Kong, we are still connected as friends. Denise and her team at AAC are proficient, personal and professional.
