Liverpool International College

Foundation Certificate for Science and Engineering

I planned to study in the University of Leeds foundation program before DSE. However, I didn’t get a good result in the DSE and I have planned my future studies again. Thanks for Joshua and other staff from AAC. I am available to study in University of Liverpool International College.

The University of Liverpool International College is a college provide foundation and pre-master courses to aid student to get into university and all of the students are international students. Therefore, I had interacted a lot with classmates from different countries, with different background. I enjoyed learning many variations of culture while speaking with my friends.

When I came to Liverpool in the few days, I had already met some friends from the accommodation. Exploring the city with them, I quickly adept living in the UK. Some of the best friends I met are from the church I went every week. Same as me, they are from Hong Kong and that’s why it is easily to join their community.

Studying in the UK are more flexible than studying in Hong Kong. I depend more on self-studies instead of doing lots of exercises at school. As a result, I had to plan ahead what I have to every day.

The college provided many assists throughout the year. Every class have a student support teacher and he contacted us each week to solve our problems from both academic and daily live. It’s unfortunate to face the Covid-19 pandemic in the middle of the term. The school closed down and I have to use the internet to have lessons and exams. Learning without face to face teaching is very difficult but teachers always review previous lessons and tries to answer our questions. I achieve a good result and able to progress into the University of Liverpool at last.

Overall, I enjoyed my first year studying the in the UK. I learnt and experienced many all the time.
